Conversion costs can vary considerably depending on your vehicle and requirements, but a typical cost for all the parts to do a quality conversion of a small car, using lithium batteries to achieve about a 100km max range, is around AU$20K. The battery pack itself usually accounts for almost half of the total conversion cost, but this can be amortized against fuel saved. A LiFePO4 battery pack should last for around 250000kms, so it works out far cheaper than buying petrol. |
